Two Weeks Closer

Practice is off and running and, yes, we certainly are two weeks closer to our first games. Everyone here in the Titan Baseball camp is fired up for the year. Titan players please be sure to discuss upcoming events with your families (Family Dinner, Titan Night, etc.). WA!

Erik Ammon

Oregon State University: BS Exercise and Sport Science (2009)

Area of Instruction: Special Needs Instructional Assistant at Parrish Middle School

Erik graduated from North Salem High School in 2004. While at North, Coach Ammon earned First Team All-State honors at catcher as a junior and senior. After high school Erik played one season at the University of Hawai’i in 2005. The following season he transferred to Oregon State University, where he played his final 3 years of college ball. At Oregon State Erik was a member of both back-to-back National Championships teams (2006, 2007). The 2010 season with be Coach Ammon’s first as a member of the Titan Baseball coaching staff. This is also Erik’s first year at Parrish Middle School.

Travis Chetock

Western Oregon University: BS Social Sciences (2003), Master of Arts in Teaching (2005)

Area of Instruction: Math @ Walker Middle School

Travis graduated from McKay High School in 1999. He played baseball all 4 years at Western Oregon University while majoring in Social Sciences and minoring in Economics. There he was named all-conference twice and was a starting outfielder for the 2001 WOU baseball club that finished third in the NAIA World Series. The 2010 season will be Travis’ fifth as a coach; all of which have been spent at various levels in the West Salem baseball program. This will be Travis’ third year teaching math at Walker Middle School.

Bryan Lohrman

Albertson College of Idaho: BS in History, Education Minor (2006)

Area of Instruction: Special Programs Instructional Assistant. @ West Salem High School.

Coach Lohrman graduated from South Salem High School in 2001. As a senior he was selected as a First Team All-State shortstop. After high school Coach Lohrman attended Chemeketa Community College for two years. Both years he earned a 1st team all NWAAC selection. After two years at Chemeketa Coach Lohrman attended Albertson College of Idaho where he played for two years. The 2010 season will be Coach Lohrman’s 4th year as a member of the Titan Baseball staff.

Micah Tiffin

Linfield College : Double Major – Education and Athletic Training

Areas of instruction: Health and Sports Medicine @ West Salem High School

Micah played 2 years at Linfield College. After coaching the JV team at Linfield College for one year, Micah then coached and taught at South Salem High School for 10 years. Coach Tiffin then went to Sprague for one year before starting the Titan Baseball Tradition at West Salem. The Titans won their first District Title in the 3rd year of existence. The next year the baseball program competed in the schools first State Championship, only to lose to Wilson High. After two district championships the Titans went on to win their 3rd in a row in 2007. Back to back to back District Titles! Great ballplayers and assistant coaches have enabled Coach Tiffin to win the league coach of the year honor two times in 6 years.
Micah is blessed with wife Lara and daughter Rylie Grace (9).
